Learning to Embrace Impermanence

No one goes through life unscathed. We’re navigating generational trauma, anxiety, negative self talk, loss, resentment, tough parenting decisions; the list goes on. Transformation is difficult and change is constant.

Though it is helpful to practice grounding activities like yoga, meditation, journaling or any nurturing practice that soothes the spirit, it is also important to acknowledge the nature of change. Life is in motion, and when we can learn to embrace uncertainty or accept that some things are outside of our control, we can get through the most turbulent of times (over and over again).

So let’s remind ourselves of the nature of impermanence and lean on it to know that challenges will indeed pass. This, in and of itself, is a gift.

1. What has changed in your life recently?
2. How did it leave a mark?
3. What did you learn from this experience that you’d like to keep with you? What do you want to let go of?
4. Reflect on your last turbulent moment. Now congratulate yourself for getting to the other side
